Mikhaila Santos
Registered Physiotherapist
Mikhaila is registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) and a registered Physiotherapist in the Philippines.
Mikhaila received her Bachelor’s Degree of Physical Therapy (5 years) from the Cebu Doctors’ University, Philippines. Mikhaila piqued an interest in paediatrics when she started working as a private PT for a child with cerebral palsy and as a locum PT for a high-school basketball team. She volunteered in an outpatient rehab hospital and completed sports performance and conditioning courses, while working.
Mikhaila eventually moved to Canada and initially started as an OTA/PTA, where she was deemed the top graduate of the program at Fleming College. She has experience in a variety of environments including group homes, long-term care and in hospitals while treating diverse client populations.
Currently, Mikhaila works at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital that focuses on complex continuing care, post-acute care rehab and general internal medicine. At Footprints Therapy, she is eager to grow in the field of paediatrics and participate in children’s recovery journeys through goal-specific client-centred and family-centred care. She is truly passionate in what she does and enjoys incorporating creative play in therapeutic exercise programs when working with children.
Mikhaila speaks English, Tagalog, Cebuano, and signs in ASL.
Outside the clinical setting, Mikhaila enjoys travelling, hiking, swimming, playing badminton and walking her corgi!
